Where Does Matcha Come From?
Authentic matcha is grown in Japan, primarily in regions like Uji (Kyoto), Nishio (Aichi), and Kagoshima. The tea plants are shade-grown for 3–4 weeks before harvest, which boosts chlorophyll and L-theanine content.
How is Matcha Made?
After harvest, leaves are steamed, dried, and stone-ground into a fine powder. This slow grinding process preserves nutrients and gives matcha its vibrant green colour.
